The meseta finally gives way as you approach León across irrigated farmland and suburban edges. Plan for about 4 hours 40 minutes before navigating into a proper city.

León is a highlight - the cathedral's stained glass, the tapas scene in the Barrio Húmedo, and enough services to restock completely. Many walkers pause here before the mountains ahead.
