You leave León on paths through the Páramo Leonés - still flat but with a sense of climbing toward the mountains of León. Expect about 5 hours 5 minutes on exposed tracks.

Villadangos del Páramo is a roadside town with practical pilgrim services rather than sightseeing. A staging post before Astorga and the start of hillier country.
