Stage 23

One of the longer days since leaving the Pyrenees, crossing the Maragatería region toward Astorga. Allow about 6 hours 50 minutes on rolling paths through stone villages and open hillside.

Astorga has Gaudí's episcopal palace, Roman ruins, and a strong pilgrim tradition. The mountains of Foncebadón and O Cebreiro lie ahead - check weather before you leave town.
